How many helium party balloons would it take to lift a person?

The napkin math

  1. One party balloon lifts ~15 grams
  2. A 70 kg person is 70,000 grams
  3. 70,000 ÷ 15 ≈ 4,700

It's 4,700 balloons… ish

By the way: In 1982, Larry Walters actually did it with 42 much larger weather balloons.
